"We've learned, more than anything, that we are not the experts," says Neysa Meyer, executive director of the Putnam County Community Foundation.
That's why the foundation is offering $250,000 in grants to help those in the county dealing with mental health and substance use issues, the St.
Paul Pioneer Press reports.
According to a 2023 community needs assessment, substance use and mental health were identified as the top issues in the county.
"We've spent significant time gathering data and connecting with community stakeholders to explore the challenges Putnam County faces related to mental health and substance use," Meyer says.
"Through the RFI process, we want to understand further the entire landscape of mental health and substance use resources available in Putnam County."
Interested parties can submit a request for information by July 1.
